Frequently asked questions
How does this hourly to salary calculator work?
Enter an hourly rate, hours per week, and weeks per year. Annual salary is hourly rate times hours per week times weeks per year. Weekly salary is hourly rate times hours per week. Both results are always shown. Defaults are 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year. Math runs in your browser. Nothing is stored.
How does the hourly to annual salary formula work?
Annual salary is hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year. Example: $25.00 × 40 × 52 = $52,000.00 per year. Change hours or weeks if your schedule is not a standard full-time year.
Does this calculator also show weekly salary?
Yes. Weekly salary is hourly rate × hours per week. Example: $25 × 40 = $1,000.00 per week. The page always shows annual and weekly together. It does not convert a salary back to an hourly rate. Use the salary to hourly calculator for that.
What are the 40-hour and 52-week defaults?
If you leave hours per week blank, the calculator uses 40. If you leave weeks per year blank, it uses 52. Hours above 168 in a week are rejected because a week has 168 hours.
Is this payroll or tax advice?
No. Results are estimates only. This is not payroll advice, tax advice, or a payroll or tax-filing system. It does not withhold taxes, decide exempt status, or replace a pay stub. Confirm figures with your records or a qualified professional.
Do I need an account? Do you store the numbers I enter?
No. The math runs in your browser. There is no signup, and Tallymill does not save your hourly rate or hours. Refreshing the page clears the form.
